Timber Marketing

After a forestry company plants and nurtures a stand of trees for decades, it’s up to a timber marketer to ensure the investment pays off. This person will know the timber markets well: what the sawmills, pulp mills, exporters and other buyers want, and what they will pay for it. Any given stand of trees may have products for each. Timber marketing involves finding the best buyer for each product and ensuring that the loggers hired to harvest the trees can deliver on that product.
